We took special care in order to make our site as interoperable and accessible as possible. As of May 8, 2008, this site validated as XHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS. It also complies with section 508 of the Disabilities Act and passes Level Triple-A of the W3C® Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0.
The site began as a blueprint of what was needed for it. Then the work was divided into graphic designer, researcher, and coder. It was then hand coded in Dreamweaver CS4, and Microsoft Expressions 2. Images or screenshots were created and or edited in Photoshop CS2, CS3, and CS4. The Image Slider was made by using a Dreamweaver CS4 add-on and was then edited to look the way it needed to look. The timeline was built from TimeToast.com. The JavaScript accordion was built by a Spry from Dreamweaver. All Html, CSS, and JavaScript are W3C valid.
After our site was finished, it was uploaded to the server using LeechFTP. We then tested it for Section 508 and WCAG 1.0 Compliancy using the HiSoftware® Cynthia Says™ Portal. It was also tested for valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS using W3C's® validators.
